Examples of Application of zinc, c1855 brochure
In 1851, at the Great Exhibition in the Crystal Palace, London, a cast
zinc statue of Queen Victoria was put on display by the Vieille
Montagne (See it in the Photo Gallery). Zinc was a relatively new and innovative material that in many situations could replace lead. But
people had to be convinced. This brochure provided a list of
structures in England, Belgium and France where zinc had been
successfully applied.
